He was born in vietnam in 1970 during the war and arrived in France in 1971. JP Derouard developed very early a true feeling to the music and especially jazz.
At the moment, he is considered as one of the best swing drummers of hi age in France and the best swing drummer in barcelona.
When he was very young, he started with the drums and the classic percussions which anabled him to have several musical experimants from a trio to the big band through symphonic orchestra.
In 1997 he became during 4 years, the drummer of the pianist Philippe Duchemin trio with Patricia Lebeugle as bass.
He has travelled and travelling, through Europa and the whole world ( France , Africa, Switzerland,Hungary, England, Manilla, China, ST Petersburgh, Sweden, Germany , Danemark, Italia , ect..)
He has played as well in different bands for the pleasure to play with famous names :
Dany Doriz , Claude Bolling, Marc Fosset, Rudy Bonin, Bob Wilber, Philippe Duchemin, Pierre Boussaguet, Fabien Mary, Sweet System, Jazzpel, Gianni Basso, François Guin, Ronald Baker, Jesse Davis, Scott Hamilton, Brad Leali, Duffy Jackson ( ex batteur de BASIE), China Moses ( fille de Dee Dee Bridegwater), Tony Sola, Nicolas Payton, Lou Donaldson etc…Mais aussi avec le claquettiste Chuck Green et les chanteuses Mandy Gaines, Linda Hopkins, Yan Harrington etc.…
